I saw this on another fish related forum, and I thought it would be great to do here!

RAOK=random act of kindness

A random act of kindness is a purportedly selfless act performed by a person or persons wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual or in some cases even an animal. There will generally be no reason other than to make people smile, or be happier.

All you have to do is post with fish that you no longer need.

Not just full grown fish either, why not add say bags of fry to the thread?

Anything that is live, and not inverts, are welcome here.

Please make sure your fish are in good condition and you are able to send the fish properly.

Any DOA's will be settled between the person giving and the person receiving. No reason to bring moderators into any quarrels.

Moderator Note: It might be a good idea to sticky this but then again its up to you.

while its a great idea judging by past threads its best served that each person make their own thread. long term these threads dont work. they become full of chater and people often dont have any clue as to whats going on. it looks better and less confusing for others if each person makes a thread to give away fish plants inverts hardware what ever they have.

I didn't think this was a RAOK thread:

I kind of have to disagree here. Those are the rules with the RAOK thread. However, with this, some people may have free fish to get rid of, but not want to take on someone else's unwanted fish or unwanted item. If the rules for this are the same as the rules for RAOK, why not just leave it to the RAOK thread?
I am glad to see that my thread has been rapidly growing since I last checked back. I am now going to state concerns that some people have. THIS IS NOT A ROAK, how stupid would it be if someone Needed to get rid of fry due to overpopulation and the only way to do that would be to wait or to buy the giant catfish that the previous seller posted. No it is but a markeplace to give away fish. I know some people think just to put it in the main marketplace. But this makes things a little organized.

But if the rules have changed, I didn't know.

I'm pretty sure that the two angelfish that nano cichlids had are gone. I think my friend got them and they're being shipped out soon. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I could be wrong, but I think the general opinion is that it's easier to do individual posts in the classifieds (based on the lack of participation and the few comments that have been made). I feel that way anyway - just cruise around with the search function for free in the classifieds if you're not looking for something specific. Just my $.02 anyway.
