I have personally never kept them but I have seen them at my LFS. They are very pretty but they need a tank with a large footprint so they can move around. They also like sand so they can bury themselves. I'm not sure what kind of fish they are compatible with but I assume anything that can fit in their mouth will eventually make it there. Maybe someone else would know.
I agree, they will help you out more. Most rays will require a large setup so do not get too set on getting one unless you plan on a large tank.
Yea i was just curious/ They are really interesting to watch. Im sure Sand as a substrate is important.
Yeah, the MN zoo here has a type of FW stingray in a tank with some minnows (can't remember the name) but its with large gravel/rounded stones...looks uncomfortable for the ray.
its something i would consider for a future tank although i just bought my first one recently./ I want to see how much work maintaining that tank once things settle down are. Right now i water change a lot since it is a new tank and i am trying to keep an eye on nitrites.
