Hi everyone!

So happy I found your site :)

Anyways, I have a 46gal tank. The inhabitants are: 7 tiger barbs, 8 cories, 3 SAE, 5 ottos, 5 khuli loaches and one female kribensis.
I have a problem figuring out the level of my stocking - basically, I cannot tell if I'm already getting close to be fully stocked, or I still have some space to add few fish. I think my bottom level is filled in (cories are cute), but I feel my tank would really gain if I could add someone who would fill up more the middle-top swimming area. I really like harlequin rasboras, and I also read somewhere that they should get along with TB...

What do you guys think? Could I add some? Maybe some other fish suggestions?

Thanks a million!!!

:welcome: to AC! With the Tiger Barbs, any additions that inhabit the same space are tough. Perhaps you could add a couple of a different variety (Green or Albino). They are the same species and will schoal together with normal TBs. Sounds like a great tank!

:iagree:

Tiger barbs can be aggressive, especially with fish that inhabit the same space in the water column. HN's advice is good: green or albino barbs are just color variants, so they'll still school with your current fish. That will give you more color variety and them more of their own species to chase, rather than the other fish.

Sounds like a neat tank!

Thanks a lot guys!

I think you're right :) I will add more TB - hope that will make them even more happy :)

Any suggestion how many more should I could try introducing? I definitely would not like them to feel crowded or something, maybe like 2-3 more would be ok?

Also, since this 7 is together for few months now, I was wondering is there anything I should pay attention why adding new ones? Like, etc. would it matter if they would be a bit smaller than the current one? I would not like them to beaten up.. :(

Thanks again!!

Three sounds good to me, and don't worry about them picking on each other. Tigers will settle the pecking order amongst themselves pretty quickly.

2-3 more should be fine. I'd try to find some as close as possible to the smallest of what's in there now, but smaller should be ok too. They will just be the most submissive.

I would add 4-5 green barbs just for the color.
