Hey guys,

I was wondering would this power head be enough to give ideal current and or turbelence flow in my 70 Gal FOWLR aquarium?...

TUNZE
Turbelle ® stream kit 6110

pump 12000/h (3175 gal), wave simulation, food timer and an option for operation in night mode
= Turbelle ® stream 6100 + Singlecontroller 7091

and thoughts would be great.

I understand TANG's and the like need these type's of current/flow to reduce stress?...

If this is a bit too much for my tank it is fine as a 1500Ltr custom tank is being built as i post..i think its approx 400 Gal?..

Cheers

Melvin

If I read your post correctly the tunze moves more than 3,000 gallons per hour!!!! IMHO that is way too powerful for the 70gal tank but would work really well in your future 400gal tank. By the way, I've heard great things about this pump on other boards.

I agree with Brian, you tank needs about 12 to 20 times water column turnover hourly. For a 70 gallon tank, a pump producing 1000 gph turnover would work just fine. 3000 gph is overkill on the 70 gallon.

the 6100 stream can be turned down so do not worry about it being to powerful.the 12000lt/h rating is max. output but the tunze stream simulates waves and runs from 30% up to 100% capacity so it will never turn over 12000l/h.i would up the controller to a 7094 as this can take up to 4 stream pumps working all at seperate times to create great current/wave affects (maybe in the future) It is a bit more expensive but not too much.the 7091 controller can work up to 2 pumps if you buy an extra adaptor but the both have to run at same speed at the same time.

yeah i knew this would be a overkill on my 70 Gal but i want to purchase this power head with the 400 Gal in mind so i wanted something strong, reliable and efficient....:)

about the 7094 yes its expensive although would i really need that controler?...

I was drawn to this power head because it could simulate a myramid of effects Eg Wave etc etc and i felt this was a better overall package...and ClownieandBilly is right it can be turned down for day, night and feeding time....and turbelence can be tuned to prevent excessive turbelence emitted from the powerhead.

Thanks Guys for your thoughts:D
