my 2 chiclids a firemouth and convict, used to fight over territory in the tank (its all described in the vid) there are 2 vids of it on youtube they tend to show off and then iff they still havnt settled it they get violent. however they havnt fought or shown any aggressive or any territorial behavior since i came back from vacation. we had the lights out for 9 days while we where gone. so did this stop there aggression.

this is before they get violent

and this is when they began fighting shortly after

first why would you let them fight? second you left the lights out for 9 days?

What size tank and what else is in there? 9 days without light should be fine for an unplanted, but it will not cure aggression issues IMO.

yes i dont purposely let them fight, they do it a few times a day. like i said they havnt done since the lights where out. they never seriously injured one another and i would intervene when they started getting even more aggressive. the only time they would fight is if they looked each other in the eyes and where invading one anothers territory.and they almost never got physical in there quarells thats why i recorded it.

It could be considered a bittt serious considering how long the fight was, most non serious fights are mostly a "chase" and/or "face off" with minimal 'attacks" and if you look really closely at 1:12-1:14 i THINK i saw a teeny tiny part of your firemouth's fin get ripped off, could be mistaken though. Anyone else see that?

How big is that tank?

Btw, it looked like your pleco was doing some kind of dance :p i found it very funny for some reason. Mine would never come out like that lol

Looked like a scale.

what size tank is it? i saw tat the con is female my guess it that the firemouth is male and this is part of a breeding ritual. also you said you have a flower horn? i also see molly tiger barb and sliver dollar. you might want to reconsider your stock

im going to say 40 gallon. or 30. not positive 30 seems to small for the vids you might be right pappy
