After much help from the members of this forum, I can now show you my first attempt at a planted tank. It's a 55 Gallon with 2.4 wpg and no CO2 (I do add ferts though). It's stocked with 12 Neons, 5 Zebra Danios, 2 Gold Platies, 2 Red Swordtails, 2 Yo-Yo Loaches, 1 Dwarf Guorami, and 2 Plecos. I plan on putting some kind of carpeting plant down soon. Any suggestion for my setup?

It looks good. Just let it grow in for a bit. You will have a jungle in no time. Maybe move the sword like plant on the right forward a bit to add some depth and give the vals (or sag, I can't tell the difference) room to expand in that direction. Otherwise it looks good.

I love the way the bark looks on that stump. I would move it off center to the right and lose the water fall.

absolutely love it...love the drift wood, maybe adding some moss to the wood would be nicer..

If you want a carpet, you can use the same concept as making moss walls.

Looks great . I agree with moving the (really nice shaped) wood, so it's off centre and perhaps using a bubble curtain so the waterfall looks more elongated and gentle along the back of the tank. (again, off centred). The whole set up is going to look even nicer aas the plants grow. Nice.

I like it a lot too & agree with the off-center center piece ;) . It'll look even better after it grows in too.

You should think hard about adding 3+ more yoyos :grinyes:. They need a social group or they may pick on each other or their tankmates.
