I got this adorable goldfish from my aunt.... i technically SAVED him cause he was in a 10 gallon with 10 mollies... i know, horrible right??? Well i brought him home with me and put him in my 55 gallon... he is now as happy as can be! But im not positive what kind of goldfish he is... i think Shubunkin.... (online research) So i want your opinion...

That is the typical calico shubunkin coloration, but the fish is not a shubunkin. Shubunkins have slender bodies and single tail fins, like a comet. This fish looks more like a fantail. More info here.

i dont know, i really dont think it looks like a comet, he has more fins on the bottom than the comet does... u really dont think its a shubunkin?

That's what I'm saying- shubunkins DO look like comets, this fish does not. This fish is a fantail, with calico coloration.

I think it is a little too bulky to be a shibunkin but I suck at goldfish ID...

If it is a fantail it will reach at least 6" and will overstock your already cramped 55...if it is a shubunkin it will flat out need a pond. I know it is in a better situation than the 10 gallon but you should do your best to provide it with the ideal setup.
