Earthquake

irishspy

There is a stargate in my aquarium.
Great. We just had an earthquake (near Chino Hills, 5.8 on the Richter scale), and here I am stuck at work. I sure the aquarium is still standing. :nilly:

Yeah it was crazy, none of my tanks were actually sloshing like back in the Landers' quakes. But it knocked aquarium chemicals off the shelfs, weird.

HEY THAT PRETTY SCARY BUT COOL I'LL I GET IS RAIN RAIN RAIN HERE IN WA

How far is that from Murietta? (I can't get through to my Dad).

I have always wondered about aquariums in earthquake prone areas. Do you guys use any kind of safety tie downs or other equipment to prevent tip overs?

Those were some short, sharp waves, so I hope it just rattled things. Nothing fell at work, so fingers crossed. I'd be more worried about longer waves setting up a rocking motion.

I may have to go home in a bit to have a look.
