Any ferret owners here? I found a free albino with a condo, and was wondering if there is anything important I need to know..
thanx!
I have had several. I love them, but they are a handful. Right now my 2 year old daughter is all the handful I can handle.
Not much to ferrets. The are very active, very curious, and like to collect stuff. They can be litter trained and are more like cats in a lot of ways. They are sociable and do well with others or alone.
The best advice i can give you, is let them have the run of the house during the day, but put them in their cage at night. It's the best thing for you and them. They need lots of exercise so be sure you let them out for at least awhile everyday if not all day. If you leave them out at night they will get into something and disaster could strike. For you or the ferret.
Keep things put up. The will get into everything. also, be sure to clean out under the bed, sofa, and anywhere else they can hide. They love to collect food, and anything they can carry. Like coins, hair bows, keys, etc. They will even steal food when you are not looking and hide it.
