I want to start a species tank...my tank is 125 gallons and cycled ...I would like the species to be say SA Or straight African ..Any Suggest . any are welcome ..

Oscar, jaguar, nicaraguensis, dovii, RD....would all be good options for a species tank

it depends if you have a breeding pair or not.

um maybe 1 breeding pair some loaches maybe? Some Large size plecos

With jags, you could probably do either a single or a breeding pair. Thankmates will really depend on the individual fish. With a breeding pair, I would not put anything else in, as if they do breed they would probably beat the heck out of anything close by. With a single, any of the larger plecos would probably be safe enough.

No loaches. They are not used to being pushed around by aggressive cichlids. Plecos, doradids or synodontis may be your best bets.

Jack Dempsey are amazing they aren't super aggressive and go great with pleco and other bottom feeders

I have Had Jd's in the past ..I really like But How would a Species Tank be of Jd's ...Because they get really aggressive towards ea other

jaguars ,,,Silver Dollars and Convicts and some larger plecos

if do convicts then your going to have lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of fry.... i say try jags. or jacks

i think i'm Do Jaguar pair 5 silver dollars 6 Convict and Fry that my parrot and convict had together
