I discovered ich about a week and a half ago. I treated with heat and salt and it cleared up right away. Now that everyone looks good, I want to move some of the mollies into my larger tank. I know 4 weeks is an optimal QT time, but how long is the minimum I need to wait?
THANKS!

I think most people wait 2 weeks minimum after the disease has disappeared, just to make sure. I may be wrong though...

:iagree:
wait atleast 2 weeks
takes that long to see if the lil bugs have actually been defeated.
I agree, too. During my first (and, knock on wood, only) case of ich, I treated with Rid-Ich+ for 4 days after the last spot disappeared, which ended up being about 8 or 9 days total. Then, after 7 days of being symptom-free, the ich came back and I had to treat again.
Because some spots can stay hidden in the fish's gills, it's hard to tell when it's really cured, so definitely give it another couple of weeks to be safe.

Yep, wait at least 2 weeks. You can keep the temps up a little during this time as well to speed up the life cycle. Just because its gone from your fish doesn't mean its gone from your tank.

I haven't added fish to my tank in over a year, but from what I have learned about ich in that year, I would wait 4 weeks. At least 3.
of course, this is coming from a guy who has never actually quarantined. I have just realized how much trouble it can save you.

normal qt procedure for me..4 weeks..if the fish are healthy they can be moved..if they are sick ..treat and qt 4 weeks after healed.
I had marine fish in qt for 10 weeks once.
