Can you use flourish excel with ich medication

I'm treating my planted tank with flourish excel. I put the first dose in just now. I also have to treat my cardinals with ich medication. I know you have to take out carbon filters and flourish excel has carbon, so should I stop using it until I'm finished the ich treatment or doesn't it matter?

Excel will not affect your Ich medicine. Activated carbon and Excel are completely different, and they do not share any of the same qualities in regards to filtration or plants.

So just keep on dosing Excel.

just an FYI..the activated Carbon in the filter removed things in the water.
the carbon in the excel is a form of carbon that is used by plants.

btw in many planted tanks folks remove the activated carbon as they feel it is removing nutrients from the water column.
