Help with trimming

when I bought some of that, think its endochiasdasds or something, I just broke it up along the natural divides in the plant and planted each separately. I'm not sure if you can just cut the stems and replant them or not. Most likely you will need to uproot the whole thing to divide it. I've only divided it before the first planting so I'd wait for a second opinion if this is the first post.

The trimmed parts will just die if you try to plant them. If you dont see any new chutes forming, you can try taking the plant out and splitting all the way down to the roots, dip the roots in some flourish and replant them. Personally, I have tried this and it didnt work, but I have a couple friends that have been successful with it. The only difference in our tanks is I have mostly Cichlids and they have discus. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I know the water chemistry may have been different for me. Hope I have been helpful.
