Cleaning a 5 Gal. Bucket

I have a 5 gallon drywall compound bucket that I will be using to "age" some water for a tank switch. What should I use to clean the inside of the bucket with?

Would just salt and water work?

if it has enough stuff in it to be worried about, it is better to just get a new bucket, $3 at any hardware store.

I agree- all of my "fish buckets" were purchased new.
