How many watts are needed

For a 14 gallon tank ? I have two 15 watt incandescent light bulbs right now is that okay ?

I would change them to 6500k compact florescent screw ins. They have a 10 watt version at walmart in the fish section. Incandescent bulbs are worthless ;)

I agree with foofoo incandescent will do little more than heat the water in your tank and do nothing for your plants, besides let them die. Change to fluorescent:)

what kind of plants do you want? migth want to go with the 14w bulbs or 23w depending on what kind of plants.
