aquabotanic is having fissiden and subwasertang (spelled suberwassertang on their site) for sale next week! anyone have any personal experience with them? they're kind of rare, hard to find much info on them. basically i'd like to know their demands, rate of growth, attaches to objects slowly or quickly, etc. the fissiden seems like a really nice plant, its different from the typical moss look.

well fissiden is a type of true aqatic moss and will grow slow and take a while to adapt to a tank but looks really good (did thay say species or varation name i believe there are a few)

for subwasertang cant help you there much i now it's a bit brittle but not sure about the care for it.

never dealt with aquabotanic before

i tried to look up fissiden and realized there's a fefw varieties, but the site didnt list it. it simply said "fissiden" with 3 different pictures, perhaps they have serval varieties. do u know if fissidens require intense lighting, ferts, CO2? or they would be able to suffice in a low tech setting?

Contact Robert by phone. He is a nice guy and very helpful. I have spoken with him a few times over the years and ordered from him a bunch of times.

Generally, "fissidens" refers to fissidens fontanus, but, like TTA said, I'd contact them to be sure.

Fissiden fontanus is what I will have, otherwise known as Phoenix moss. It is actually native to the USA, but cultivated in Asia.

You can read about it here (http://www.aquamoss.net/Fissidens-fontanus/Fissidens-fontanus.htm)

Subwassertang is also know as "round pelia"

I am importing all of these in large enough qty to sell part of it, and grow out the rest to keep a continual supply. I will be the only commercial seller in the USA selling these plants. Until now people have had to buy them from ebayers in Malaysia or Singapore with mixed results. I will have these plants end of next week.

Buying plants from hobbyists is great, I buy plants from hobbyists too! But since I have no minimum order, priority mail as an option, there really isn't any difference buying any plants from me except that I have a ton more to choose from. :omg: Big orders, little orders, I take them all. Get exactly what you want, when you want it! Regular customers get 10% or more off every month by getting my newsletter. I trade and buy plants. Some of my rare plants I actually get from hobbyists. :22_yikes: I just wanted peope to realize that. I will keep quiet now!
