Acrylic canopy

I have a new (to me anyway) canopy on my 30 - 33 gallon. It is about 1/4 inch thick and I am wondering if it affects the amount of light getting to the plants. I have not had any problems but then again I just added the current 42 watt light last week.

Am I getting the full benefit of the lights to the plants?
