Hey guys,

Long time, no write.

I did some testing yesterday on my tank.

0 on the big three

8.6 DKH
420 Ca
1300 Mg

I'm out of the loop. My poor tank has had some serious ups and downs this summer, with periods of total neglect.

Lately, I've been treating her right, but I lost some fish and a coral or two during vacation/house renovation season...

They are telling you that you are good, assuming phosphate is also at 0. And with the Ca, ALK, and Mg where they are, you probably have a good pH too unless you have some d-oxygen issues.
How are things looking now? :)

Brown. Ha.

They're doing pretty good. Polyp extension is great across the board and fish are hungry.

Just a bit brown. ;)

Good to be back.

I actually went through a period where I was going to sell the tank. I just felt so bad for the whole setup, sitting there, neglected.

I lost my scooter blenny. Not sure if he ran out of food or if it was something else. I lost a few of my SPS and whole weeks went by when the algae on the glass was pretty much impossible to see through.

But now everything seems to be on the fast track to recovery. Hopefully sometime soon my GSP will be more green than brown and my pink tipped millie will have pink tips. ;)

Brown. Ha.

What are your phosphate levels then? Especially with a neglected tank, that would be my guess, either that or just dissolved organics. Of course, lighting also plays a good role in it. (and a billion other things...)

Yeah, I don't really know. I've always found phosphates pretty worthless to check for. I've done extensive water changes lately and the algae is at a low point. The bulb is (relatively new) and just recently I changed my RO inserts, so i'm back on track.

And when I placed a Dr. F&S order recently, I ordered some phosban. Figure if I need to, I'll throw it in my carbon bag for a few.

:)

How does everything look? Testing can be a downfall. Those numbers between the numbers. Leave well enough alone...
