New here, Back into the hobby!

I haven't had a tank since i had a 30 gallon tall about 13 years ago, I found a tank on craigslist. We decided to get it for ouselves for our 5th wedding anniversary (today) It's a 70 gallon with a fluval 404 filter, I need to build a top for it, my plans are white leds for lighting and RGBs later on for some nice colors. I've cleaned it up and leak tested it...... now to find some worthy gravel from somewhere other than a pet store...... too pricey for my budget.

For cheap gravel, cant beat a $10 bag of play sand or pool filter sand from Home depot.

We decided to use pool filter sand in the tank, I bought 100lbs but we may need a little more. We'll see after we add rocks and maybe some driftwood, i was thinking a slate shelf in a corner.

Going to sit like this for a few weeks while we get media together for the filter and build a new hood for it with LED lighting.
