My shrimp are fine and breeding. You will need a CO2 monitor and an air stone. If the monitor indicates hight CO2 levels then use the air stone till levels drop. I use a small in take one, cost me like $12.99 at my LFS. I've been using it for like 6 months with weekly water changes and I still have about 2-3 moths before a refill.

just make sure that the co2 is not too strong to lower the ph level of the tank.

It will be fine, what will be trickier is managing the fertilizers so that you do not have algae explosions. Shrimp can be sensitive to some fertilizers which is why I opt to not use them in my shrimp tanks. There are safe ferts to use, although I am not sure what they are. IF you do a google search, or a search on the forums here, you should be able to find the information easily. Best of luck!
