I think it was a goldfish named bob. We kept him in a ten gallon and he lived for a year until he slammed into the side of the tank.
My brother had asked for and gotten a 10 gallon aquarium for his birthday back in the ... early 70s. As the novelty wore off and the fish died off, he lost interest. When he was taking it down I asked if I could have it. He said OK. I set it up in my room with lovely aqua blue gravel, a blue foil background and a bubbling treasure chest. And 6 tiny marbled angels. :omg:
When they got HUGE I took them back to the fish store and gave them back. They were delighted to have them and I hope that they went to a better home than my tiny tank.
My next tank didn't come along 'till 1996.

We actually kept the goldfish with tropical fish and it slammed them with its big tail. Then a year later, the goldfish slammed into a wall. Then we bought more fish. And more fish.
And more fish.

a goldfish that lived in a tomatoe jar for about 2 days.
I won it at a local feast, playing on of those games.
I was a kid!
