fish caught in gulf of mexico

-black on top
-striped black/white
-torpedolike
-scaleless
-6 fins: 4 up front 2 in back
-10-12 inches
-large dott on top of head-blackish like rest of top
-mouth like catfish, no whiskers
-caught in crab trap at depth of 15-20 feet

I spent about an hour last night searching through fish from the gulf of mexico and never found anything that sounds like what you caught. They only ones that were scaleless and had 6 fins were all species of Shark.

Sounds like it might be it; but "no whiskers", and this 'shark' has them...

no no wasn't any of those, it was dark on top and had horizontal stripes running lengthwise of its body
