New to the forums. Getting ready to add more light to my 55gal tank so I can grow plants (better). I've been setup since Feb and have a comfortable comunity tank. My pH is a problem (7.9>8.0), but the fish all do OK. I don't know how pH is gonna effect my plant choices, but I really cant modify it without going to an RO system. I'm not sure I'm interested enough to do that. I do however, have a CO2 system installed and operating. If the pH can be tolerated I'm hopeing to ad light and improve my substrate. Right now I have only about 60 watts ot T8 lights and 50oz of laterite added to my gravel. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Especially comments concerning the pH and plant growing.
