Rather than seek shelter, a kite surfer in Florida thought he'd have a little fun with Tropical Storm Fay. It didn't work out, as he slammed into a building near the beach.

I saw this on CNN and about laughed my tail off. I feel bad for the guy, but it only reinforces the old saying... "The supid shall be punished".

Heh that sucks. When I was living in RI, I used to love when tropical storms and hurricanes blew off the coast - made for some awesome surf for surfing and bodyboarding :D

I got an email yesterday that is so bad I cannot even post a pic. Some guy thought it would be amusing to light an m-100 firecracker in his mouth!!! The only way to describe it is as if his face was flower and it decided to bloom.:barf:

Dont think he could of let go, the other guy still standing is wearing a harness or belt. But if he survives, then maybe he'll engineer a quick-release or something, lol.

Yeah the parachute is clipped onto a harness that is strapped around your waist/legs. The handle is just there for more control. Not as easy as just letting go. He shouldn't have been out there in the first place.
