im really interested in getting a elephant nose fish. however ive read they perfer subdued lights. i have 2 eclipse natural daylight F15T8 18" as my curent lighting. are these too bright?

duck weed might be possible (if my silver $$$s dont eatem) also i read that these like to be in groups but other places say single specimans, which one is true? and can i keep just one bcuz they are expensive at my lfs. and is there any specific ph they need to survive?
yeah i can do that. and also, what is a good asking price for one. bcuz i found a place that has them but they are like $22, however though he is like 6inches long.
This wouldn't happen to be in a 10g tank, would it? If my memory serves me, those fish get to be 10-12" long, and are fairly sensitive to water conditions.
