Hi everyone.
I have had nano FOWLR tanks for about two years, but moved and had to take it down. Now i am looking to start another one, but try going reef!

My question is what should I do for a tank. I am in a small apartment and on a bit of a budget so I am going to go nano again (I like the look anyway). I am thinking about buying a nano cube. I found a used one for sale that is 200$ for the aquarium and stand with a 4pin 50/50 PC bulb and a 70watt HQI metal halide viper light. The viper light was added. If I don't want the viper light the set up is 125$
Is the light worth the extra money? I want beginner corals so would the metal halide be to much light? would I have to worry about getting a chiller?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

another option I have is to set up my old 29 gallon tank. I have a jbj PC light that would fit the tank nice, but I would need to get power heads and a skimmer and more live rock.

In my opinion, better to go with the bigger tank. The added water volume will give you alot more options, as well as being more forgiving. I also live in an apartment and have a 55 reef. I was able to save a grip by finding a remora skimmer on-line for a really good price. Alot of people upgrade to larger equipment and sell smaller stuff for a steal. Powerheads are not to expensive, and you would only need a couple. Since you already have the lighting, it might be the way to go. Good luck.
