Extremely! dusty when new, you must rinse it about 20 times to get the water clear, so I basically cleaned if for you.

This is one of the best plant substrates you can buy, and also lasts the longest because nutrient substrates run out of nutrients after a while. This will last about 4 years. It will still be good after that, but that's what I hear for the nutrient part of this substrate.
