If you use a silica base sand for DSB, is it possable to use swimming pool filter sand? The only playsand I can get in my area is sacrete, or quickrete.

I like how course filter sand is, and the color.

As long as the grains are the right size, it's perfectly fine to use silica-based pool filter sand or sandblasting sand. I put 100-125 grain sandblasting sand in my tank and it's worked out very nicely!
