Does anyone use PhosPure media in their freshwater filtration system? The active ingredient is ferric hydroxide. It claims to remove phosphates and heavy metals and to lower KH.

I wouldn't bother using it in a freshwater aquarium, myself...unless you have unusually high levels of phosphate. What are your levels?
Never had mine tested. I suspect they are on the high side. Could be a cause of a recurrent hair algae problem. Not sure I want to risk messing with this media though.
Well I just put in my order with drsfosterandsmith for aquarium stuff. Did not include the Phospure. Sounds like no one uses the stuff around here so I will use the old toothbrush method to attack the hair algae. Ordered some Flourish Excell as well.
