looks like it could be baby's tears. try drsfostersmith.com

dwarf harigrass and mircoswords are also good choices and more readily available IME

The foreground is glosso, behind the center and left side is some riccia. Right side looks like some tenellus species, and rotalas behind that.
You can find most of these plants at AC's classifieds, lfs and a few online retailers. Hopefully someone can link you to a good one since i never really bought plants off a website.

I'm glad you asked. I so don't know plants and want my tank to look something like that. We just took it down last night and will be working toward that look. this info will be helpful.

more info..
Plant like glosso needs good light to spread like that. Atleast 2.5wpg+ (but smaller foreground plants do best at upper 2's to 3wpg), co2 should be always at a good level or else the glosso will be an algae magnet, so not sure if diy will cut it for this particular look (but i didnt say its not possible with diy)
Ferts should be in check as well. Dosing trace + NPK + Iron.
If you can provide a nutrient rich substrate, glosso will love that and spread faster.

also you dont often just plant a carpet. you plant a few and let it grow in.

:iagree:

Planting a full carpet would be way too expensive anyways
