Anybody have suggestions. She's about 4.5-5",but has harrassed a 11" oscar to the point having to isolate her(I know O's aren't the most aggressive cichlids, but it was still impressive!) She 'tolerates' other fish some times, but when she's ready to lay eggs-Beware!

I was thinking on getting a male GT to try to breed w/ her,but I've read that GT's can become intolerable of each other. Anyways, she's in a 43g right now. And I want to get a 75-90g if I eventually get a male.

My first thought would be a psycho male...

See if you can get a few GTs that size from your LFS and put them together in the bigger tank and keep the pair -> return the rest.

hehe. looks like you better made her go thru solitary confinement. ;)

the reason she is so violent is that she is in a tank that is way too small for her especialy if there was an 11" oscar in the tank, when you get the new tank she shouldnt be as aggressive.

Perhaps I didn't clearly state this before. She was in a 90g w/ the 11" O. She has always been 'violent'and continues to be so by herself in the 43g....The only thing she can harrass now is the heater! Her aggression hasn't subsided one bit...:D

yea maybe you just have a psycho female GT. GTs can be very aggressive, but normally thats the males, maybe she needs some time-out time, like maybe a lot of it.
