Has anyone had any experience with this? If I plan on using this in a low tech tank with no CO2 or filter am I wasting my time? I was wondering if it would help speed up the growth of my marimo balls, java moss and asian ambulia..
marimo balls and java moss do not really care about how many nutrients there are in the water. I would not dose any ferts in a tank with no filter. No water movement means algae!
Agreed - chances are, especially w/o any water movement, CO2 or light will be your limiting factors. If that's true, ferts will just hasten stagnation.
thanks for the quick replies! when you mean hasten stagnation, do you mean it will actually limit their growth? I thought that since marimo balls are algae, if I add more fertilizers to a no movement tank, they would grow bigger.

Plants can only take in so many nutrients and light and Co2 are your limiting factor here as mentioned. Excess nutrients leads to algae and since your plants will not be able to use the ferts I expect an algae outbreak...
