i started to feed my fish frozen brine shrimp and flake food. they started out on flake. well one of my balas doesnt like flake food anymore everytime i feed flake all the rest eat and he just sucks it in and spits it out
is this normal
and what happens if i dont feed frozen brine
weill he just not eat and die
My betta would never eat anything but brine shrimp related things or freeze dried blood worms. Well I have been feeding him betta flakes for the past few weeks in order to try and get him a varied diet. Eventually he has started to eat the flakes. Some fish are just picky.
If I were you I would feed the frozen food once a week as a treat and stick with the flake food for daily feedings. Fish won't starve to death if they are healthy and food is available but eating only frozen meaty foods isn't a great diet. He may still be picky for awhile but he will go back to the flakes eventually.
Another option with Balas is fresh veggies. They tend to love lettuce and spinach.
