For those of you who do not subscribe to Aquarium Fish International, every month they have a random drawing for those who answer a question about something in the magazine. To enter, you need to find the answer in the text and report it exactly as it appears, along with the page number.

August 2008's prize was a Marineland C-Series canister, so i thought i would give it a shot (no harm done, right?). here was the question and answer:

Question: Which animal is both venomous and poisonous?

Answer: The blue-ringed octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata) is considered to be both a venomous and poisonous animal. (Page 47).

I sent the reply in on June 17th.

Today i recieved word that i was picked! :headbang2:

Now I've got a C-360 on the way!

its the biggest one. its a canister filter that supposedly has 0 bypass. they've been getting great reviews (rbishop is a big fan from what i can see :D), and ive been waiting to get my hands on one

the C-360 puts out 360 gph. the other two models are the C-220 and the C-160, putting out 220 and 160 gph, respecively.

they're pretty good looking for filters too!

Not sure what that has to do with DIY threads, but congrats. That's certainly something to boast about.

Yeah. i got that. But, wouldn't the topic of this thread be winning the prize and not actually what the prize is specifically? I'm not trying to be argumentative, it just struck me as odd. The point is he won a prize, which is a great thing, but the prize could have been anything and it would still be a great thing.
He could have won a $200 gift certificate and it wouldn't change the thread, only the location of the thread.

Anyway, sorry to take your thread off topic. congrats on the prize. what tank are you going to use it on?

its going on my 37. right now, its running two penguin 150's, and really needs a little bit more OOMPH. i think the extra 60 gph will help with that.

i was going to post in general FW, but since i didnt win any fish and just mechanical stuff, i thought it was best to post it here. dont worry, i'll follow up with some pics :grinyes:
