Looks like one of the vining milkweeds. If the pod matures to release white fluffy floating fruits (kinda like dandelions) then it is definitely a milkweed.

I brought one home from work about 7 years ago. It has taken over my fence for about 50' or so. One day it started to climb a cyprus behind my house and is now about 60 ' straight up! You can cut them back every winter and they come back beautifully in the spring (or the next week if you live in SoCal). Just be careful, they will strangle delicate plants and when you cut them the sap will make you itch.

I split one of the "fruit" in half and let it dry for a few hours. It smelled good.
Also if it's a milkweed does that mean butterflies will get to it?

It might be Honeyvine Milkweed.
