Hi Guys
I was just wondering that is it better to use Gravel or Sand
I have a 10Gallon Starter Tank and was wondering if I can use beach sand
instead of Gravel or What Kind Sand Should I Use
Soon I will be going bigger when the money is there
Please Advise

either is fine, but sand will have to be cleaned more and maybe go with pool filter sand or silicon sand. Beach sand from the beach?

Really it is personal preference on that. Myself it depends on the tank I am setting up at the time. I used play sand in 3 of my tanks and had gravel in 2 then jewel things in 2. Myself, I find the sand easiest to maintain really but as it is all up to you what you want.:)

Thanks Guys and Gals
I heard of play sand yes so what u saying is that the sand dont really make a difference in mineral or bacteria or things of that sort

Well, there are sands that do..yes. The sand used in SW tanks, and then there are sands that help keep pH up like for cichlid tanks...but the play sand or pool filter sand no. Just be sure to rinse well before using it. You can buy any aquarium sand if you like it better, but the play and pool filter sands are WAY cheaper.

Thanks A Million
I will look into play sand or filter sand and give it a try
I have a starter tank for now with gravel but when I get another tank I will setup one with sand as I don't want to interfere with my current setup as its busy cycling with 3 hardy fish
