Hello everybody!
On 8-18-08, I posted a thread about a bloat case in one of my aceis. My friend ibr3ak suggested me to take the fish out and treat him with salt in a smaller space. I did it, but instead of common salt I used 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt in a 4 1/2 gallons hospital tank. I want to give you details of the whole treatment, hoping it can help anybody else in cases like this one.
The fish was breathing fast, but after 24 hours of treatment, he started to breath normally. The fish was 1 day before treatment and 3 more days during treatment, refusing to eat any kind of food. Next day, he ate a small amount of veggie flakes and a little bit bigger amount of them on the following day. Next day (last Saturday), he ate NLS pellets and on Sunday his feces were totally normal; so I put him back in the main tank, last Sunday night. Since then, he is looking great; being the dominant fish of the acei group.
I hope this can help a few good guys out there!
And thanks a lot, ibr3ak! After all, you gave me the idea for the fish treatment!!! :bowing:
