I have a salt water tank and have used the purple primer and the clear glue and have not had a problem, but I do let it cure for a day or so before I run water thru it just to make sure that there is no glue getting into the water. I know the stuff dries fairly quick, but......
I use it at work all the time (HVAC), but that's for drains, I know some drinking water runs through pvc, but I wasn't sure if if was a certain type. Well, I'll work on doing a dry fit and wait to see if there is anymore feedback.
PVC glue is safe when cured but when I used to build spray bars for tanks I never used it. With straight cuts the fittings tap on tight enough to hold and then if you ever need, it comes apart easily.
So, I got 1/2" CPVC, 3 elbows, (1) 1/2" female threaded end, end cap, and a Barbed male treaded adapter. I cut all the pieces to fit. After dry fitting it, I realized the bar should be 14" instead of 12". Now, I only need to drill, glue and paint it. So, I was wondering how many holes to drill and about what size should the holes be? I was thinking 7 holes 1/8" big spaced about 2' apart. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
