I just bought 4 green cories today at the LFS. Well, I got home tonight and checked on them in my Q tank. One of them is not like the others! 3 are larger (I wasn't worried about that) but they have settled down now and I was able to look at them closely. The 3 larger ones have an elongated face and the smaller one has a much more rounded face and has a somewhat different color. Now I have to figure out what kind it is because the others are hanging around together and ignoring him. Poor little guy, he needs pals. I guess this means another trip to the LFS as soon as I figure out what he is. Bummer.:wall:

Yep, I counted dorsal rays. 12 of them. Well, what do you think about the other?

the odd ones is probably corydoras aenues. he'll always be smaller as they don't grow as large, whether he starts to school with them or not I don't know. some school with others some don't.

green one

Here is a pic of one of the large green ones. Sorry about the quality. As soon as I wanted to take a pic they started swimming around.

Bronchis is likely.

You are right nguy, I looked it up and the other one is a bronze cory. Oh well, need to go shopping for friends. That also explains why I thought that the big ones dorsal fin was different. Thank you for helping.

Congrats on the new fish! It is always great to get new ones.

what size tank do you have them in?? the brochis gets a big bigger than the c. aenues. I would point that out in the store that they have both species in the tank and have it mis labeled. Then I would return the 3 brochis. But that's just me as I love the corydoras but think the brochis guys look funny and grow to 3inches I think. sorry for the luck and goodluck with the cories/brochis
