Red cherry shrimp and apple snail question.

Im getting some red cherry shripm and some apple snails and I want to know how fast do the shrimp multiply and will the snails get along with my ramshell and pond snails? Thank you :)

The apple snails do fine with other snails. They are a wonderful addition to an invert tank. The shrimp reproduce quite readily once they hit sexual maturity. Once you see the visible saddle on the females (a patch just behind their head that is yellow or greenish in color) it will be 2-3 weeks until they are berried (carrying eggs) then another 2-3 weeks until the eggs hatch. There are typically around 20-30 young per female. This adds up fast! Congrats!

before you know it, lol. I pulled about 350 cherry shrimp out of a tank yesterday that I was emptying to use for a pygmy cory breeding tank....I had thought there were not many shrimp in it.

Well I got them today. Man what **** show that was! The box that they came in was wet from the bag holding my RCS exploding:mad2:. I found out that shrimp can live out of the water for 24hrs:wall:, the 10 apple snails turns out the seller only sent me one and I think its dead and I got 2 pounds of Hygrophila difformis for free. Im peved about the snails and the shrimp. 3 out of 4 RCS are still alive. Arggg this is whay I hate ebay!!!:swear::angryfire::mad2::irked:

Thank you. I contacted the seller to see if she could replace the dead snail and send the other 9 snails that were advertised and this is what I got back

" I actually sent you 5 cherry shrimps...I found another on my tank, that was the last of them. As for the apple snails, I guess I didn't do the posting right, as it was supposed to say 1 apple snail....I don't have anymore! I only had 1 left! Yes, your right, if the snail is hanging out of the shell, and when you touch it, it doesn't curl back up in its shell, its probably dead...or if you smell an odor. I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding. I even sent you a ton of extra plants."

not only did she miss post it but she doesent have anymore to replace the dead one! I'm asking for half of the money back and I dont think Im going to leave any feed back. The seller hasnt left feed back for me and I dont want her to leave bad feed back and ruin my 100% positive rating.

I haven't bought on ebay in a long time, but I didn't think Sellers were able to leave feedback anymore. I thought only buyers could...for reasons just like you described. Don't quote me on that...just what I heard.

BTW...that sucks about the bum deal. Sorry to hear it.

Thanks to both of you. I only buy off from ebay and thats how I have a 100% rating. Now I have to play the waiting game to see if the seller replys back to my email.
