Good Morning Everyone

Like they say the only bad questions are the ones not asked so I may sound stupid but my question is:

Plants Need Light to Survive Like we all say,Are there Plants that can actually survive without having any tank lighting other than daytime lighting that gets dark at sunset ofcourse

So Come on Guys and Gals Please Assist Me :)

sorry unless the tank is shallow clean and outside i doubt any plant can survive without a light but there are certain types that require less light than others

I am aware about the low lighting like java moss for eg

I was just wondering if there are plants that don't need special lighting

I already assumed that its probably not possible but some feedback might assist me :)

Thanks for your input

Any lowlight plant will grow with direct sunlight, although u might have trouble with algae.

Ive grown javamoss, duckweed, anacharis(sp?), hornwort, broadleaf sag(grew very slow) in 10g on my balcony at different times. I havent tried any others yet.

I wanna try an all natural aquarium, as soon as my apt manager trims the tree thats blocking my light :mad2:

thats my experiance anyway

No plant will grow without or with poor lighting. Light is essential for photosynthesis.

There are many varieties of plastic and silk plants which will survive quite well with any light. I have many myself.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. :lipssealedsmilie:

well technically, there are a bunch of low light plants that will do well with indirect sunlight, marimo balls, asian ambulia, pellia.. all of them do well in low light tanks

set that tank in front of a sunny window and watch how fast the algae grows

well he isnt asking about no light he just asking about only natural light..... it really depends. it needs 8 or so hours of light a day. direct light will give algae to far indirect lighting wont have the light needed to grow.

You can grow plants with direct sunlight, but as Mg said, it's a careful balancing act.
