The fish were just transferred from a 30 gal to this 120 gal yesterday. Just a few moments ago I saw that they found the new plants (see sig for tank profile) and they were breeding in there. There's not much room in there but who knows...maybe those ones will live.

Jeez. Now my Pearl Danios are going at it. No wonder these fish are so cheap.

Nice gifs. I never thought of that.
One of these days I want to try breeding tetras too, but the water here is really hard. Do you have any tips on breeding tetras?

Man, you folks are hard to impress. I thought the GIFs were nifty.
Anyways, I haven't had to proactively do anything to get them to spawn. I moved them from an area that had hard and somewhat alkaline water, to an area that I believe has less chlorine, and is softer with a lower PH. I haven't done any tests, nor have I contacted the water company to confirm my suspicions, but at least it tastes a hell of a lot better :D.
Maybe it's the food. I feed freeze-dried tubifex, Tetra-Min Pro flakes, freeze dried blood worms, and I just picked up some frozen brine shrimp...but they were breeding before the brine shrimp and before I put them in the new tank.
BTW, the Danios weren't breeding....the "blue mirror tetras" had gorged themselves so much with food and Black Skirt eggs that some where regurgitating them. It made it look like something else was releasing eggs.

Hey nice GIFs. That's a nice Pearl gourami...one of my favourite fish. I've been looking for a nice pair of pearls for a while now. Let us kow how the spawning comes along. Thanks for posting.

You can search www.download.com for free tools to create animated gifs. You add all the gifs you want and select how much time you want between each frame.
Joe, Awesome job. I would love to have a breeding pair of anything. :)

I used Coffe Cup FREEEEEEEE GIF animation software. I redid them as SWF animations so they now automatically resize to the size of your browser window, and you can zoom in by right-clicking.
ENJOY!!!!
