Hurricane Damage and Geek Advice

Well, everything survived the hurricane. We're all back home safe and sound... except for my cell phone. I was charging at my sis-in-law's and her cat yacked on it.

I have 8 cats and never had them yack on it. The phone is there for 12 hours and it's a target.

Anyway, the keyboard is dead, the phone is reallly screwy.

It's a T-mobile, which means I've got a SIM card. Can I really take the SIM card and put it in any T-mobile or unlocked phone and just use it?

yes. if you are using another carrier you may need to call t mobile and have them give you some numbers that need changed for certain features, like the Ip number ect, But any phone that takes a sim should work. also, if it turns on, keep it charged, take it to a store and they can retrieve most of your info:)

Yes you can Ogre, you MAY need to contact T-mobile to update the IMEI on file, but probably won't. Glad to here you were unscathed other than the phone.

If you want a cheap fix, you can even use one of their cheap pre-pay phones with your contract SIM, until its upgrade time.
