Ferts.....

Thinking about expanding my testing to include ferts as well as the co2. I see Seachem has a complete line (several bottles) of the different things that plants need.

Is there any type of all inclusive product or does one have to go out and purchase a bottle of each product?

Unless your dosing a small tank or volume, I would skip the Seachem line and grab Dry ferts. Read the Sticky by Mgamer and it will have all the information you need such as dosing and availability listed as well, plus you will save a fortune if you plan on growing plants more than 3months. http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136668

For testing purposes...it will be in a small tank. Don't want to go overboard right off the bat.

DFS has 100ml 3-packs of their fert line, might be the best option of getting everything for testing or buy the 250ml botttes at $3.50 each.

home testing of planted tanks.

i started with regular low lights
then added co2 and medium lights
now looking to go high highting but have read that not only do i need co2 but ferts as well.

nice little learning process for me.

if your going to keep up and really want to do testing its best to buy dry ferts and mix them your self.

i personally think its a better to try on a bigger tank. the whole thing is about keeping a balance. smaller tanks just that much harder to balance then bigger tanks.

If I wind up finding a good deal on a 55 or something that would be great. I'm prepping for the BIG tank. If I don't wind up getting a ray then I will having one heck of a planted community.
