feeding gsp

my gsp is current about 3 and a lil inches and i want to try some new food such as the mussels i picked up today

normal diet is snails, ghost shrimp, and frozen shrimp along with some other treats

any advice for feeding mussels? do i need to crack them open a little first?
 
well i found a past post by pufferpunk, so i did as she said she does and cracked it open for the puffer to stick his head in and grab some, puffer loved it
