took 50 pics and as usuall, only 2 turned out. i wish there were a 20foot dc adapter for running the camera without wasting expensive batterys.

this is a red hump eartheater- geophagus stiendachneri. a pleasant, likeable fish. please note, he doesnt have a siamese twin. that eye looking back is a green severum that wouldnt get out of the picture.

I have been wanting to get some geophagus for a while now. My local fish stores don't carry many different cichlids though. Does anyone have a good source for geophagus that ships?

Try this

www.tangledupincichlids.com

I've ordered many fish from Jeff. He is great. The fish is amazing. You can find a lot of fish you can't find in any LFS.

Is it true that these guys spend long hours at the office just digging into the gravel and spitting it out?

Yes, it's kinda fun to watch

"Meesa thinks I'ma gonna eata some more rock" *chew chew chew, drop some from my gills, chew some more*

Nick name for my friend's geophagus was "Jar Jar" as he looked like that stoopid Star Wars character.
