Hello,

I am not really concerned, just curious. I have 3 angels in a 65g tank. They were previously in a 55. They were all purchased at the same time, a marble, an albino?gold? pearlscale and a half black. They've been together for... about 2 years maybe? The marble and the pearlscale are have a body size of mmm about the diameter of a tennis ball, a little smaller than my palm. The half black is a little bigger than half the size. The marble and pearlscale occasionally engage in some chasing and lip locking. The half black is never involved in any of this.

A few questions. Is there a reason the half black is so much smaller?
Are any of them likely to pair up? I actually would prefer that they didn't. If it hasn't happened by now is it likely to happen at all? Are they likely to get any bigger or do you think they are maxed out?

Water params 0ammmonia 0 nitrite usually about 10 nitrate. Some java fern and fake plants. Drift wood. fluval 305 for filtration. Weekly 30% water changes.

Tank mates, 5 bleeding heart tetras, 4 lemon tetras, 8 hatchet fish, 1 white cloud mountain minnow (he was from a friend who moved-it was my tank or flush him) 1 neon tetra(there used to be about 12, but after living peacefully with my angels for over a year, over a period of about two weeks they were fish food. This last hanger on has been single for some time now) and sadly 1 pepper cory(there used to be 5, but I went to south africa for 8 weeks... my husband took care of the fish, but for some reason 4 of my cories died in this time though there were no other losses)

Ok, now that I've written that out, I thought of a few unangel related questions. I've had the lemons for about 4 years. There used to be six, but a while back two of them started looking kinda ratty and then died. They were all adults when I got them... How much longer can I expect to have these guys around?

I don't know what to do about the cories. I kinda want more, and feel bad the one guy is alone. There are really cute skunk cories at the store. Anyone kept these before? On the other hand, I've always really wanted pictus cats! Any thoughts on those guys?

Sorry about the long post! Thanks!

For angels these seem on the small size, if I am reading your comments correctly. A full grown angel should have a body size of 3-5 inches. They vary a bit just like people. They should attain that size by one year.

If yours are significantly smaller, you may have purchased stunted angels. To verify this compare the relative size of their eyes to some pictures on the web. One good site is angelsplus.com.

If they are stunted they can still reproduce normally and have normal size fry. The genetics will not change just because one generation is stunted.
