Hello,
We have a Tek-5, 48", 6 bulb, 54 watts each, lamp. Our current arrangement of the lights makes the tank very blue during non high light time, about 8 hours. We would like to move one of the Daylight Bulbs to the position held by a Blue, thus brightening the tank. Our concern is what effects this would have on the, "high light" period. Our new arrangement would be this:

Highlight: 4 Hours
Off
Blue (Moved From Front)
Blue
Aqua Blue (White)
Blue
Off

Lowlight: 8 Hours
Aqua Blue(Moved to Front)
Off
Off
Off
Off
Actinic

We keep a little of everything, LPS, SPS, and some Zoo Polyps. Any suggestions on bulb placement would be great, thanks.

Sorry if I put this thread up 9 times. The machine between the keyboard and chair is suffering a malfunction! :pc:

You don't run the "low light" grouping while the "high light" grouping is on? I've always run the actinics while the daylight bulbs are on, to keep our tank from appearing too white. That said, you have a lot of bulbs on the blue side of the color spectrum -- I bet your tank is anything but white in color (visually).

We have a local Reef shop here, one I believe is pretty honest. When I bought the Fixture, this was the set up that was recommended.

I don't really like the deep blue it shows during the evening. These are 54 watt HO flourescent bulbs. Any suggestion to brighten it up, and still maintain proper lighting? I stopped running the 6 lights all at once because it seemed way to powerful for a 55 gallon 22" deep tank, so no, during the 4 light period, the Actinic is off.

Added final question, Since I run my 4 and 2 seperatly, could I replace one Blue with an Actinic?
