Yesterday morning I found some discus eggs in my tank. I was very excited for a day and half. Today I'm sad, they ate the eggs.:eek3:

Hopefully they will breed again. Enjoy the pics:

Give them time, unless it is two females, you will get there. Nice looking discus by the way!

Thanks for the kind comments, all.

Bk, yep I do alot of shopping around throughout many LFS in Chinatown. Theres about 3-4 stores I go to and check out every month to see if they got discus I like. The best one I like is around the corner from Wins Tropical on Mott Street.

they'll ge tthe hang of it eventually. it can take cichlid parents a few tries before they get their parenting instincts down.

hmm theres another one by wins? are you talking about Pacific?

How much did you manage to get them for?

The Leopards (Blue/Red) were $60 each. I got a male and female but they didn't pair up. I added extra discus, two more Red Checkerboards (Red/White) which were $85/ea. These are all young adult to adult sizes (4-6"). Soon, I'll need to upgrade my tank when I get more room. For now, they'll have to be stuck with my 50 breeder tank.

I'm not sure whats the name of the store is called, but its the corner store right nearby Wins Tropical. They usually have a variety of different discus at different prices depending on size and quality.

the corner store with all the discus is called 38 Aquarium. good healthy discus there, just a mean owner.

Agree with lildark185, the owner isnt the coolest guy.

My discus laid eggs again. This time even more orange eggs but on a different branch than the first time. BUT they ate all of them again in 2 days. I"m nto sure why they do this?

UGH, I'm planning on setting up another 20G grow fry tank and dump the eggs there once they lay it again. Any cons on this?
