I have a 30 gallon I think that houses a jewel cichlid and a m. callainos both are adults. I want to add a few more as I have recently rehomed other fish and now with only the two the tank looks totally empty. What are some other fish that I may keep in this tank. Here's a pic. The cories and the barbs have been rehomed but the briggs are still happily there the fish don't even pay them any mind:)

couple crayfish perhaps? Or Blue rams?

two jewels...I don't think so...anything which results in a pair will breed and annihilate everything else in the tank. Males will likely shred each other....females....don't know in general but the tank is two small for four aggressive cichlids to be safe.

No way Angelfish would work. A krib or ram will be out-cichlided by the current occupants.

I would :

- ditch the mbuna
- leave the jewel as the centrepiece and sole cichlid
- put in something of your favourite small schooler - harlequins, cardinal tetra or something.
- add to the bottom - 4 or 5 corydoras.

Something like that. I can't think of anything to reccomend you to try with the mbuna in there.
